St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Indianola, Iowa has been proudly growing, year after year. At a time when catechism classes were full and the church body didn’t fit into the building anymore, Father Chris Fontanini created a Master Plan to add more space for the growing body of Christ. With this priority in mind, St. Thomas Aquinas set forth to raise $2 million to begin construction and set aside long term funds for building maintenance.
The plan included six more classrooms, handicap accessibility for the community, and a multi-purpose room. EDEN+ drafted a case for support, trained volunteers and staff, tracked progress, and partnered with St. Thomas Aquinas to ultimately meet their goal and break ground only six months after the campaign began with the funds fully committed. St. Thomas Aquinas utilized prospect research tools to identify parishioners who had significant capacity and invited those individuals to make leadership gifts. Despite having back to back campaigns for the last decade, St. Thomas Aquinas raised more money than ever before, including 54 families who made gifts of $10,000 or more, as well as two $100,000 gifts ever.
